1. Describe how the body is organized from cells up to organism? Give examples of each level.

The level of organs are first cells, then tissues, organs, organ system and finoly organisms

2. Skeletal System: How many bones are in your body? What does the skeleton do? What are the bones made of?

I have about 200 bones in my body. The skeletan holds our body shape together, and gives us support. My bones are made of cartilage and calcium. That is why I need to drink lots of milk!

3. Muscular System: How many muscles are in my body. How do they attach to bone? What are the types of movement? What are the types of Muscles?

Over 500 muscles are in my body! My muscles are connected to my bones through things called tendons. To move muscles contract and relax in pairs. Types of movement are contraction and extension. Extension is when you are making your muscle stretch, contraction is when you make your muscle shorten. Types of muscles are

4. Respiratory System. What are the functions of this system? What is the pathway of air? Why do we need oxygen?

The function of the respiratory system is to get oxygen out of the air and circulating throughout the body. Air enters through the nose and mouth, and then goes into the lungs, where oxygen is taken in through diffiusion and carbon dioxide is removed through diffusion. Blood delivers oxygen from the lungs to the cells. We need oxygen to live.

5. Circulatory System: What are the functions of this system? What are the components in order of blood flow? What does blood do? What much does your heart beat? How do you prevent heart disease?

The function of the circ-u-la-tory system (aka the car-dio-vas-cu-lar system) is to deliver oxygen in throughout our body and get rid of waste. The circulatory system is based on three key components or parts: first if the heart. It has four chambers that pump the blood throughout the body; second is the blood vessels and arteries, which are really big and carry the blood to and from the heart; third is the blood itself, which carries oxygen and carbon dioxide throughout the body. My heart beats 66 beats per-minute when I am resting. To prevent heart disease and have a healthy heat it is important that I exercise and eat healthy. To have a healthy heart I should eat lean meat so that I do not get "plaque" built up in my arteries, and I should eat lots of fruits and vegetables. According to the website "hub pages at http://hubpages.com/hub/What-Does-Blood-Do" The function of the blood is as follows:

"Blood is the liquid pumped by the heart throughout the body. The cells are produced in the bone marrow. The chief function of blood is to bring oxygen and nutrients to tissues in the body, and to carry away carbon-dioxide, lactic acid and other waste material. It also transports hormones and other substances between organs and body tissues."

6. Nervous System-What are the roles of of the Nervous System? What are that different type of nerves? What are the different parts of the brain? What are your senses?

The neuron is the functional unit of the nervous system. I have about 100 billion neurons in their brain alone! While variable in size and shape, all my neurons have three parts.Dendrites receive information from another cell and transmit the message to the cell body. My cell contains the nucleus, mitochondria and other organelles typical of eukaryote cells. The axon conducts messages away from my body.

6. Enzymes are things in the digestive system that break down the nutrients in food into small molecules that are then able to be absorbed by the blood through diffusion and carried throughout the body.

The five nutrients are carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamens, and minerals.

I think that the food guide is good because we do not need to eat that much sugar and fights.

7. Digestive System: Define Digestion, name all the organs in order. What do enzymes do? What are the 5 nutrients? Explain whether you think the food guide is good or not.

Digestion is how the food is broken down after you eat it. The organs involved are the mouth (teeth chew up the food, the tongue that helps the food go down and gives taste to the food, and the saliva which helps to break down the food making it easier to swallow), the esophagus is involved which is the throat that the food passes down, next is the stomach there the food is further broken down by stomach acids, finally the small intestine, which the food passes through after the stomach and it is in the small intestine where nutrients are taken by red blood cells and taken then though out the body. THe remaining stuff, which is all waste, goes to the large intestine to be expelled from the body.
